The eBay offline equivalent...

All great empires fall don’t they? eBay, which has dominated online selling for the past ten years is slowly slipping, as reported by Techcrunch. There’s some interesting notes and comments made to this post about why eBay is failing. The most prominent reasons seem to be:

  • Auctions – they are problematic with fraud and the company is making shifts to fixed price to combat this;
  • Constantly changing fees and fee’s themselves;
  • Users getting wise and setting up their own eCommerce sites or using niche social networks and marketplaces.
